Garment Packaging and Loading

Air-City specialize in handling garment, both flat pack and on-hanger.  Following are our handling tips: -

Flat Pack Goods
Quality of Cartons 每 heavy weight outer cardboard carton should be used on all shipments with thick plastic bags to protect garment against water damage or splitting open.

Type of Tape 每 have the factories use pilfer proof tape on all cartons.  This will dramatically cut down on shortages.

Plastic Straps 每 for additional protection each carton should be banded with vinyl straps.

Marks & Numbers 每 develop a secret code to use on outer cartons which will inform the receiving department which division the shipment belongs but will not inform others that it's your shipment.

Volumetric Goods 每 merchandise such as handbags, belts, hats, bulky coats and sweaters and the like should be packed as tightly as possible (without risking damaging the goods) without any excess or unnecessary packing materials.

GOH (Garment on Hanger)

Plastic Bags 每 should always be of the highest quality and should always be sealed at the bottom by folding up approximately 4-6 inches of the bag and securely taped.

Hangers 每 the thickness of the hanger should be coordinated with the weight of the garment.  The heavier the garment the thicker the hanger (i.e. a silk blouse hanger should not be used for a wool overcoat).  Also, particular attention should be given to the hook, (i.e. if it is a screw in type make sure it is well made otherwise it will detach itself from hanger and the garment will end up on the floor).
